Empowering Pakistan's farmers with technology

Bakhabar Kissan was built on a simple belief: when farmers have access to the same quality of information, tools and inputs that large agribusinesses do, the entire food system gets stronger. Today our platform serves more than 15 million farmers and agricultural service users across Pakistan with weather forecasts, agronomy advisory, satellite-based monitoring and an integrated agri-store.

Why we exist

Pakistani agriculture feeds a country of more than 240 million people and employs nearly 40% of the workforce. Yet most growers still operate without timely weather data, struggle to access reliable inputs, and lack a direct line to qualified agronomy advice. The result is preventable losses to weather, pests and poor input decisions — losses the system can no longer afford.

We started Bakhabar Kissan to close that gap. By combining a national weather station network, satellite monitoring, an in-app advisory platform and an integrated agri-store, we give farmers a single place to get accurate information and trustworthy products — in their language, on their phone, at prices that work for their farm.

Every part of the platform is designed to compound: better forecasts make advisories more accurate, better advisories drive smarter input decisions, smarter inputs raise yields, and the data we collect along the way improves every farmer's next season.

What we do

Hyperlocal weather intelligence

A network of 300+ on-ground weather stations delivers district-level rain, temperature, humidity and wind forecasts so farmers can plan irrigation, sowing and harvesting around real conditions, not generic outlooks.

Satellite-based farm monitoring

Remote sensing reveals crop health, growth stage and stress at the field level. Agribusinesses, insurers and large farms use it to monitor portfolios at scale; smallholders see actionable plot insights inside the BKK app.

Agronomy advisory and crop life cycle

Stage-aware advisories cover sowing, irrigation, nutrition, pest and disease management and harvesting for major crops, livestock and poultry — written by agronomists, delivered in Urdu and English.

Agri-store and crop inputs

Through partnerships with leading manufacturers and suppliers, our online and physical stores stock seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and farm equipment — vetted, priced fairly and delivered across Pakistan.

Build with us

Whether you're a farmer, agribusiness, telecom operator, insurance provider or public-sector partner — if your work makes Pakistani agriculture stronger, we'd love to talk.

How we work

Built for farmers, not around them

Every product decision starts with farmer interviews on the field — in Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan. Our agronomy teams spend more time on farms than in offices.

Honest, evidence-based advice

We don't push products that don't perform. Recommendations are grounded in trial data, on-ground observations and the realities of Pakistan's growing conditions.

Accessible at every income level

Core advisory and weather services are free in the BKK app. Premium services and crop inputs are priced to be reachable by smallholders, not just large operations.

Open to partners who share the mission

We work with telecom operators, financial institutions, insurance providers, government bodies and input suppliers — anyone whose work makes Pakistani agriculture stronger.
